ADB's Work in Solomon Islands
ADB recognizes Solomon Islands as a small island developing state in a fragile and conflict-affected situation. The country is remote, geographically dispersed, and located in the Pacific Ring of Fire and cyclone zone, making it vulnerable to disasters triggered by natural hazards and extreme weather events. Solomon Islands is also vulnerable to civil unrest, exacerbated by a growing youth population with limited employment opportunities.
To date, ADB has committed 134 public sector loans, grants, and technical assistance totaling $629 million to Solomon Islands.

Forecasts are based on ADB's flagship publication, the Asian Development Outlook. Updated four times a year, it analyzes economic and development issues in developing countries in Asia and the Pacific.
Development indicators for Nauru, including a selection of economic, environmental, and social indicators used globally to track progress toward the Sustainable Development Goals.
Results achieved are aggregate amounts of outputs and outcomes from operations reported in project completion reports and extended annual review reports circulated for the year.
Cofinancing operations enable ADB’s financing partners, governments or their agencies, multilateral financing institutions, and commercial organizations to participate in financing ADB projects.

ADB’s Transport Sector Flood Recovery Project helped reinstate bridge approach roads, culverts, and stream crossings and rebuilt three elevated bridges, reestablishing a seamless east–west road link on Guadalcanal and within Honiara. All works incorporated climate- and disaster-proof design.
