ADB and Agence Fran?aise de Développement (AFD) signed an amendment to their Partnership Framework Agreement today, raising their joint cofinancing target to $6 billion for the period 2026–2028 from their previous 3-year target (2023–2025) of $3 billion. The additional cofinancing will support activities in key sectors.

Financing Partnerships at a Glance
ADB committed $24.3 billion from its resources in 2024 to advance development across Asia and the Pacific. This funding supported 195 projects, 378 technical assistance initiatives, and over 27,600 transactions under private sector programs.
ADB’s financing partners played a crucial role, contributing an additional $14.9 billion in cofinancing. This included $6.2 billion for 171 sovereign projects and technical assistance (TA) projects, and $8.7 billion for 63 nonsovereign projects, TAs, trade and supply chain finance and microfinance programs, and transaction advisory services.
Sovereign Cofinancing
Mobilizes grants and loans from financing partnerships and public sector lending windows for ADB-supported projects and grants for ADB’s technical assistance operations.
Nonsovereign Cofinancing
Supports ADB’s developmental objectives by facilitating investment, trade, and capital flows into developing member countries.
