Development Issues in Asia and the Pacific
The global development challenges facing our world, such as climate change, water security, inequality and poverty, can only be resolved at an international level. ADB provides its members in Asia and the Pacific with the knowledge and expertise to tackle these problems.
Strategic Focus Areas
ADB needs to focus on the region’s most pressing development issues. The Strategy 2030 Midterm Review lays out five strategic focus areas where ADB can have a bold impact on poverty reduction and economic and social development.

Climate Action
More than $100 billion in cumulative climate finance (2019–2030) and for climate finance to reach 50% of the total committed financing volume, by 2030

$13 billion of ADB’s own account financing and all direct mobilization, including a minimum of $4.5 billion in direct private capital mobilization, and 40% of sovereign operations contributing to private sector development, by 2030

The Sustainable Infrastructure Assistance Program Phase II (SIAP2) supported a "Build Back Better" recovery program to rehabilitate Donggala, Pantoloan, and Wani ports as well as the Mutiara Sis Al Jufri Airport.

Works to make global trade and supply chains green, resilient, inclusive, transparent, and socially responsible by delivering knowledge products and solutions with its partners, while delivering financial products that keep trade moving in developing Asia.
Funds and Resources
ADB funds activities in various sectors through loans and grants, financed from ordinary capital resources as well as special and trust funds.
Transaction Advisory Services
Working as an honest broker between governments and the private sector, ADB supports governments in the region structure deals with private companies, analyze risk, conduct financial modeling, prepare bid documents and manage the tender process.
